About Intergalactic Circuits

A World of Electronics

We offer circuit boards for students and researchers at universities who want to explore the Internet of Things in greater depth — whether for education or research purposes.

Both software and hardware are provided under an open-source license, allowing you to continue using the knowledge you have gained in professional environments without having to deal with new development environments or proprietary licenses.

Since the company is still in the process of being established, we currently offer only one product. However, new products will be added progressively.

The MoleNet Board

An Experimental Platform for the Internet of Things (IoT)

The MoleNet Board was developed as part of the MoleNet Project at the University of Bremen. Both the hardware design and the software are released under the GPL-3.0 license and are available on GitHub.

At its core, the board features an ESP32 microcontroller equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It also includes:

  • a LoRa module with an SMA antenna connector for energy-efficient, long-range communication,
  • a microSD card reader,
  • a sensor for temperature, air pressure, and humidity monitoring,
  • a Qwiic connector for easy integration of additional sensors,
  • a USB-C port for power supply and firmware updates,
  • terminal blocks for serial communication (SDI),
  • terminal blocks for external power supply.

The MoleNet Board is actively used in both education — for example, in the Internet of Things course — and research projects, such as water quality monitoring at the University of Bremen.
